BIO-REX WOODMORE!
I PAINT FOR ENJOYMENT
A sale is a bonus!
A sale is a bonus!
My art career began in late 2009 and by 2021 I had sold one hundred paintings.
Before retiring from horticulture and re-vegetation, much of my work involved trees (I love trees). So with this in mind and the fact that my name is ‘WOODmore’ it should come as no surprise that I do paintings of trees!
Today I am probably best known for my 'family friendly' paintings of #Jacaranda #trees and my slogan of 'God’s creation, my inspiration'
My original and unique artwork is proudly displayed on the walls of workplaces and homes by private and corporate clients around the world. Images of my work have been used on high fashion garments and in printed publications.

My attitude toward my art is the same as with my other interests “Enjoy!”
In my metal detecting and treasure hunting, I echo the words of America's (and the world's) greatest treasure hunter, the late Mel Fisher who famously said:
“The search takes on a meaning of its own & anything else is a bonus”

I love trees, I have propagated and planted thousands of them and with a name like ‘WOODmore’ it should be no surprise that my favourite subject in my paintings is trees.

FROM GROWING TREES to PAINTING TREES
Rex’s art journey began when he retired from the horticulture & revegetation industries and he stated to his wife Lyn: “I am going to re-invent myself as an artist!” Much of his life had revolved around trees and with a name like ‘WOODmore’ trees seemed to be a logical choice of subject. With no formal training & armed only with a desire to produce artworks others would like and want to purchase, Rex turned to the Internet where he greatly admired the work of artists such as Albert Namatjira, Hans Heysen, Frederick McCubbin, John Glover, & Tom Roberts, who all seemed to share his passion for the diverse beauty of trees, found especially within God’s awesome creation here in Australia.
But there were many artworks that to Rex’s untrained and unqualified eye, seemed to be rubbish.
Rex came to the conclusion: “My rubbish could be no worse than other people’s rubbish!” Today his achievements indicate that his work is generally not seen as rubbish.
